Dalton Reynolds, an electrical level two student at the Louis Miller Terrebonne Career & Technical High School, gave a speech at the 2017 Louisiana Jump Start Initiative in Baton Rouge Tuesday January 17, 2017. Dalton gave his speech in front of 1400 professionals including; state house of representatives elected members, Louisiana Department of Education employees, high school administrators, principals, guidance counselors, teachers and industry representatives. Dalton’s speech included how he first developed a career path choice, and the success he was able to earn by working on two nationally recognized NCCER electrical certifications at LMTCTHS.
The purpose of Dalton’s speech was to enlighten people from across the state in knowing how capable the youth are in achieving success through the proper training with the help of the State Jump Start Initiative. The purpose of the Jump Start Program is to give students a jump start into a career path and become productive citizens working in a certifiable career immediately following high school graduation. Dalton plans on becoming a licensed electrical lineman and pursuing a career in the electrical utility industry.

He was recognized by the Terrebonne Parish School District at the Tuesday, February 7, 2017 School Board Meeting where Mr. Roger Dale DeHart, Board President, awarded him with a certificate.
