O HebertFebruary: Oliver Hebert


Oliver Hebert, the Welding 1 Instructor, is a former student of LMTCT.  He was a graduate from H.L. Bourgeois High School.  He was introduced to welding at LMTCT and headed into the industry following graduation.  He worked in the welding field for 38 years.   Majority of his time was spent at Gulf Island Fabrications building offshore structures.  He also spent some of his time instructing / teaching / certifying welders for Gulf Island.  This is where he realized he enjoyed showing others how to weld.  He is the father of two, a son and daughter, and a grandfather to 4. His favorite pastime is fishing for reds and watching LSU softball and baseball.  He started his teaching career at LMTCT in 2018.  He wants to show his students all the possibilities that are out there for them in the field of welding while helping them to develop a quality work ethic that will help them create a lasting career in the field of welding.

D WallingJanuary: Douglas Walling 


Douglas Walling the automotive Instructor at LMTCT. I have been employed at our campus for 27 years. I am a graduate of South Terrebonne High School and studied at LSU to obtain my Teaching licensing. I hold a Teaching Certificate from Louisiana Board of Education. I have taught Small Gas Engines, Diesel Fuel Injection Classes, and Automotive Technology I and II. I am a certified Automotive Service Excellence Instructor, ACE Certified Instructor, Chevrolet Certified Technician (GM) and many others. I have been nominated and chosen as Inspirational Teacher of the year in 2004 and 2019. I have served as Teacher of the Year in 1998. I also am Associate Pastor / Youth Pastor at Christ Baptist Church in Houma, LA. My goal is to give every student the tools and knowledge to become successful in the automotive industry. My passion in this field for 35 years is what I want to pass down to younger generations that they may be successful as I have been. I thank GOD for putting me in this position that may teach and challenge these students to be all they can be. Throughout those classes I have taught students to believe in themselves, increase their self-esteem, soft skills, and put many students to work in the automotive industry in and around our local parishes. I currently have an advisory board that I work with from local industries in our area. They support me financially and advise me of industry changes as they change.

Chad LDecember: Chad LaFleur

Chad LaFleur, the Electrical 1 and Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) 1 instructor for LMTCT was born in El Dorado, Arkansas and a 1998 graduate of Springhill High School in Springhill, LA. He then continued his education at Northwest Technical College for industrial maintenance and earned an EPA certificate. Since then Chad has worked for small residential and large commercial electrical & HVAC companies including companies such as Sealand Mechanical and Rouses where he worked as a refrigeration technician and progressed he way up to service manager, where he took care of all of their refrigeration, air conditioning and electrical systems, earning many certificates along the way such as; I.C.E. residential air conditioning, ESCO EPA proctor, Management Engineering Electrical, and Basic DC electronics, to name a few.  Chad was then asked in 2008 to start an HVAC program for Blue Cliff College, where he taught for 2 years.  He designed the classroom and lab areas and wrote the curriculum not only for Blue Cliff College but also for its sister college, Dorsey College in Madison Heights Michigan. Chad was then asked to become the engineering instructor for Edison Chouest Offshore. For the next three years he was coast guard approved to instruct engineers on subjects such as Electrical, DC voltage, hydraulics, pneumatics, and refrigeration he wrote the guidelines for a refrigerant management plan for the vessels, which were approved by and used by the ABS and Coast Guard and are still in use today. Chad is the owner and operator of LaFleur AC & Heating, LLC. Chad is a family man, married to Nicole Trosclair LaFleur who is a native of Chauvin, La. They have been married for 13 years and have three children, MaCall, Gage, and Jaxsen, and reside in Bourg, LA.

Chelsi BourgOctober: Chelsi Bourg


Last school year, LMTCT welcomed Chelsi Bourg as a CNA and EMR instructor. Chelsi attended South Terrebonne High School, as well as LMTCT where she earned her nursing assistant certification. She served as Vice President of Skills USA and an active member of National Honor Society as a high school student. Chelsi competed at the state level as a nursing assistant and earned a gold metal at Skills USA. Chelsi then was given the opportunity to compete at the national level in Kansas City, Missouri where she placed 7th in the nation. In 2016, Chelsi graduated from Nicholls State University with a bachelors of science degree in nursing. Upon graduation, she obtained a job at Thibodaux Regional Medical Center as a medical surgical nurse. A love for babies, then lead her to the next step in her career journey as a nursery/postpartum nurse. With two kids and working nights life became very busy for the Bourg family. Chelsi then obtained a job at a family practice clinic to have a more consistent schedule for her family. Although, this job was ideal Chelsi still had a desire to do more. After much deliberation, Chelsi had decided that she was ready for a career change. With a burning desire to teach nursing, she knew her search should begin in the same place as her journey started, LMTCT. To her surprise a CNA instructor position was available, without any hesitation, Chelsi began the hiring process. In 2018, Chelsi earned her CNA instructor certification, EMR instructor certification, AHA CPR instructor certification, and CTTIE certification. After a successful first year of teaching, Chelsi has made LMTCT her home. She loves helping develop young minds into young adults and watching the students grow as a professional in their field of study. She looks forward to many more years of teaching and inspiring young minds to be the most they can be. 


September: Phillip Fangue


Phillip Fangue, Electrical 1 and 2 instructor for LMTCT, is a 34 year old native of Houma, veteran, business owner, and licensed master electrician. Upon graduating from Houma Christian School in 2003, Phillip shipped out to Marine Corps basic training and served honorable with the MARFORRES G-6 platoon earning several awards along the way.  From the Marine Corps he went on to work as an electrician’s helper and HVAC installer for local companies, continuing in the field until he was granted the title “electrical foreman” and “HVAC technician.” In 2015, Phillip earned his associates degree in safety technology from Nicholls State University.  Also, a safety certification from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals as a “Safety Trained Supervisor.” In 2017, he passed the Louisiana State electrical contractors exam and earned his title of “master electrician.” He now owns and runs a small electrical and HVAC business in addition to teaching the craft in Terrebonne Parish. Phillip current lives in Bayou Blue with his wife and three kids.
